Hi, I’m Syndie.
A Haitian-born, Boston-raised creative, math nerd, fashion lover, storyteller, and the woman behind Beautifully Syndie.
I created this space to share what inspires me to build a life that feels beautiful on the outside, but most importantly, one that feels beautiful mentally, physically, and emotionally too.
However, Beautifully Syndie didn’t exactly begin with a grand plan.
In March 2020, like so many of us, I suddenly found myself at home with a lot more time on my hands. For years, my friends had encouraged me to start a YouTube channel. I was always the person they came to for outfit ideas, makeup tips, and hair tutorials.
I always brushed the idea off.
I didn’t think I was doing anything particularly extraordinary, and I certainly didn’t think I had the time.
But then the world suddenly slowed down.
So, out of boredom, I started a hobby, one of many, if I’m honest, lol, and finally decided to create as a way to pass the time during lockdown.
And Beautifully Syndie was born.
From a hobby to something much bigger

At first, I thought Beautifully Syndie would mostly be about beauty, makeup, and hair. But once I started sharing fashion and styling content, something clicked.
My audience responded to it. I loved creating it. And slowly, the world of Beautifully Syndie began to expand.
Fashion became beauty. Beauty became lifestyle. Lifestyle became cooking, travel, home, wellness, conversations about life, and little glimpses into the person behind the camera.
Looking back, I think that’s exactly why the name Beautifully Syndie ended up fitting so well.
“Beautifully” was never meant to describe just one thing.
For me, living beautifully is about how you dress; yes, I’m the queen of being overdressed.
Funny enough, when I graduated college, I put this quote on my cap: “You can never be overdressed or overeducated.” Because to me, dressing well tells the world how to ad-dress you.
But living beautifully is also about how you care for yourself, the home you create, the meals you make, the places you experience, the way you speak to yourself, the way you make people feel, and ultimately the woman you’re becoming.
That’s what I want this space to represent.
Learning femininity for myself

My relationship with fashion and beauty is actually very personal.
Growing up without my mother, there were so many things about being a woman that I felt like I had to figure out for myself: how to dress, how to style my hair, how to do my makeup, and how to express my femininity.
So I learned.
I learned from reading books, Seventeen Magazine, What Not to Wear, America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, Pinterest, YouTube, and a little—well, a lot—of trial and error.
Over time, fashion and beauty became more than clothes or makeup to me. They became forms of self-expression, creativity, and a way of embracing the woman I was becoming.
You’ll probably notice that I don’t have just one fashion or beauty style. One day I might be dressed in something floral and feminine, and the next I’m wearing something sporty and chic.
There is usually one underlying theme, though:
I’ll probably have a pair of heels on.
Maybe that’s part of why creating Beautifully Syndie has always felt so natural.
I’m still learning, and now I get to share some of what I’ve learned along the way.
Beauty and Brains
There’s another side of me that you might not immediately guess from scrolling through my Instagram.
I love math.
I studied Pure Mathematics and minored in Statistics because I thought I would eventually become a math professor. I tutored college mathematics and even began taking graduate-level math courses before life took me in a different direction.
After graduating, I was exhausted from school and ended up beginning a career as a Business Analyst instead.
For a while, one of the ways I described myself was:
Mathematician by day, creative by night.
And in a lot of ways, that contrast still describes me.
I love puzzles, solving problems, and figuring out how things work just as much as I love putting together an outfit, creating an editorial photograph, or spending hours editing a YouTube video.
I don’t think women have to choose between being analytical and creative, intelligent and feminine, ambitious and soft.
I certainly haven’t.
Becoming the best version of ourselves
Today, the vision for Beautifully Syndie is much clearer than it was when I pressed publish for the first time in 2020.
I want this to be a place that inspires women to become the best versions of themselves—inside and out.
Maybe you leave with a new outfit idea.
Maybe you finally try a recipe.
Maybe something reminds you to take better care of your health.
Maybe you decide to book the trip, create a beautiful home, take yourself somewhere you’ve always wanted to go, or simply start enjoying your own company a little more.
And sometimes, maybe you’ll just find something pretty that makes your day a little brighter.
I’m still becoming too.
Behind the polished photos and beautiful moments, I’m navigating my own seasons of growth, learning difficult lessons, spending more time in solitude, and deciding what kind of woman I want to become next.
I don’t have all of it figured out.
I think that’s part of the beauty of it.
A few things about me
I’m Haitian and was born in Haiti, but I spent most of my life near the Boston area. After years in Massachusetts, I packed up my life and moved to Texas in 2021. Since then, I’ve lived in Houston, Austin, and these days, I call Dallas home.
I love cooking, hosting, and creating a beautiful table almost as much as I love getting dressed for the occasion.
I’m a coffee lover, a math nerd, and a forever lover of Paris, French fashion, food, music, and wine.
Speaking of wine, pour me a glass of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and I’m happy.
Rose, especially Turkish rose, is one of my favorite fragrance notes.
My everyday beauty favorites usually involve a nude lip, and one of my current favorite combinations is an espresso-toned liner with a matte peachy nude lip.
I’m feminine at heart. Dresses, skirts, and heels will probably always have a special place in my wardrobe, even if sneakers have managed to work their way in too.
And because I know someone will eventually ask:
Syndie is pronounced just like Cindy. 🤍
Welcome to my world
I don’t know exactly what Beautifully Syndie will look like years from now.
Maybe there will be a product of my own one day.
Maybe even the cookbook so many of you have asked me for on YouTube.
What I do know is that I want this space to continue growing into something genuinely useful, inspiring, and beautiful.
A place where style, beauty, and everyday life meet.
A place that reminds women that becoming the woman they want to be can happen in the big life decisions, but also in the small ones.
What you wear.
What you cook.
How you care for yourself.
What you allow into your life.
And how intentionally you choose to live it.
Here’s to living happily, healthily & beautifully.
