What to do in Boston

After 1.5 years of living in Houston, I finally decided to visit my home state, Massachusetts. I decided to visit now for several reasons. First, ya girl misses the fall! Fall is my favorite season. I love the cooler days, changing leaves, and fun fall activities, and it’s my birthday season.

As much as I love the warmer weather here in Houston, it was time to experience an actual fall.

As I plan for my trip to Boston in a few weeks, here are a few things to do in Boston that I hope to do during my stay.

Where to Eat

If you’re a foodie like me, then you’re in luck! There are a variety of places to get good food.

I love Italian food, so I highly recommend taking a stroll to the North End. This is where you’ll find “Boston’s Little Italy,” a small, densely packed neighborhood with lots of places to eat, from pizzerias, bakeries, to traditional Italian food. The North End is home to Mamma Maria, my favorites Italian restaurant. The food and service are excellent. I typically order anything from the pasta menu since I’m a pasta lover.

Whenever I visit the North End, I feel like I’m walking the streets of Europe. This is a fantastic area for exploring. It’s a vibe.

I recommend the Lookout Rooftop Restaurant if you want drinks with a great view. This restaurant has one of the best views of Boston. Not only do you see the city view, but there’s also something about seeing the Seaport that I love.

Where to Shop

One of my favorite places to go shopping in Boston is Copley Place Mall. It’s an upscale shopping mall with luxury retailers like Tiffany & Co. and Saint Laurent. Copley Place Mall also has walkways connected to the Prudential Center, another area for eating and shopping. Copley Place Mall is also in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay.

Shopping at Copley Place Mall

Speaking of Back Bay, another area for shopping is Newbury Street. Newbury Street is another place for shopping and dining. What I love about Newbury Street are the beautiful 19th-century brownstones. With the addition of upscale boutiques and shops, Newbury Street is considered one of the most expensive streets in the world. Newbury Street is also one of my favorite places to eat and people-watch.

What to Wear

I couldn’t write this post without sharing some style options. I love fall in Boston; with the leaves changing colors and weather changing, it’s so much fun to wear cozy styles.

I recommend wearing lots of layers so you can be warm with the ability easily remove some layers when it gets hotter during the day. I’d also recommend wearing comfortable shoes if you plan to do some exploring because Boston is very much a walkable city. I typically like wearing cute loafers, flats or sneakers.

Here’s one of my favorite looks when plan to stroll the city but II want to be chic and comfy at the same time.

Have you been to any of these places? If so, what’s your favorite? Also, stay tuned for a blog post and YouTube video of the recap of my Boston trip!
