Fall Capsule Wardrobe | What to Wear This Fall 2021

Zara Blazer, Striped Knit Sweater, Vince Camuto Pelsna Croc Boots

Fall is officially here, and with things cooling off a bit in Houston (I say this lightly because it’s still in the 70’s), it’s time to start building my fall capsule wardrobe.

What is a Capsule Wardrobe?

A capsule wardrobe is a collection of clothing and accessories that never go out of style. They are classic pieces that fit into a wardrobe cohesively with the ability to mix and match an item with the other collections’ items.

When I think of a capsule wardrobe, I think of timeless pieces that are practical and have more wearability. An example of this is are vintage jeans. They never go out of style, they go with just about anything, and anyone can wear them no matter to age or size.

When building my capsule wardrobe, I start with items that I can wear every day, from simply running errands to adding a few touches and elevating for a complete look.

Starting with the Base

I like to keep a few comfy dresses, skirts, tops, jeans, and shorts (since I live in Houston, after all). Things that can easily be layered for cooler days and items that provide the right amount of comfort. My style sense is chic yet feminine, so I like to have several dresses in my wardrobe.

Blazers, Jackets, & Coats

Blazers, jackets, and coats are my favorite thing to wear in the fall, especially blazers! I love the structure blazers provider, and it’s a simple way to level up an outfit. My favorite places to shop for blazers are Zara, H&M, and Mango. I usually get an XS for a fitted look or small if I’m going for an oversized look. I typically wear a lot of neutrals, so I like to have a few patterns thrown in here and there, and shirt jackets (or shackets) are the perfect way to add something different. The same goes with blazers I like to have a pop of color in my blazer collection.

All Things Footwear

When it comes to shoes, I like to have shoes with a mix of comfort and style. I’m a heels girl, so there will always be heels in my wardrobe, but feel free to add your favorites here. I like to have knee-high boots and mules in my wardrobe as well. Since I wear a lot of neutrals, I have cream, black, and camel color for each.

Lastly, I like to add gold pieces and bags that also have gold hardware to match. For bags, I’ve been loving Coach bags lately. They are made with excellent craftsmanship and quality and are very affordable, considering they are a luxury brand. I mentioned that in this post outlining their comeback. Also, I picked up a new Teddy Blake bag recently in the camel color, and it’s been the perfect addition because it’s spacious, made with Italian leather, and affordable as well. I also have a discount code TBSYNDIE30 to save $30 off your purchase.

Styling the Capsule

For some style inspo, here are some ways I styled these items from the capsule.
